The Qur'an is not merely a book — it is a divine revelation. It is not a historical record, but a timeless message that enlightens us about the past, the present, and even what is yet to come.
Some people find it confusing when they hear that "the Qur'an cannot be burned." In truth, while the physical pages of the Qur'an can be destroyed, the sanctity and essence of the Qur'an remain preserved in the hearts of the believers. Its true protection lies not in ink or paper, but in the hearts and memories of those who live by it.
The Qur'an was revealed to the Seal of the Prophets, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, over a period of twenty-three years. It came as a guide, a healer of the soul, and a cure for the spiritual diseases of the heart and mind. It teaches us about our Creator, the stories of those who came before us, and the principles that lead to success in this life and the next.
Allah Himself has promised to preserve this sacred revelation. In the Qur'an, He declares unequivocally:
﴿إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ﴾
"Indeed, it is We who sent down the Reminder (the Qur'an), and indeed, We will be its Guardian."
(Surat Al-Ḥijr, 15:9)
Even if one were not inclined to believe the words of Allah, history itself bears witness: for over 1,447 years, the Qur'an has remained unchanged and unaltered. No revision, no edition, and no contradiction. Unlike other religious texts that have undergone countless modifications, the Qur'an stands pure — free from scientific, psychological, or grammatical error.
The Qur'an is guidance, light, wisdom, and the ultimate manual for anyone seeking true success. It contains accurate historical accounts, profound scientific insights, and precise geographical descriptions — all of which have stood the test of time. Indeed, the Qur'an is an encyclopedia of divine knowledge.
It is a book that never ceases to amaze. No matter how many times you complete it, each recitation brings new lessons and reflections. It revives the dead heart and enlightens the seeking soul. None has ever produced anything like it — and none ever will — for Allah Himself challenged mankind and the masters of eloquence to bring forth the like of it, yet they failed and will forever fail.
The Qur'an is a source of reward — whether you recite it, listen to it, or ponder over its meanings. Allah says:
"Do they not reflect upon the Qur'an? Had it been from anyone other than Allah, they would have found within it much contradiction."
(Surat An-Nisā', 4:82)
Next week, in shā' Allāh, we shall continue by exploring how Allah challenged authors, poets, and scientists to produce something comparable to the Qur'an — a challenge that remains unmet till this very day.
O Allah, on this blessed day — Jumādā al-Ūlā 9th, 1447 AH, corresponding to October 31st, 2025 CE — we testify that You are One, without partner or equal. None existed before You, and none will come after You, for You are the Everlasting, the Eternal.
Forgive us, ease our affairs, accept our worship, elevate our ranks, and make the Qur'an an evidence for us and not against us.
