Salawat upon the Prophet ﷺ

اللهم صلِّ على من أرسلته رحمةً للعالمين، وصلِّ على من جاء بالهدى ودين الحق ليظهره على الدين كله، وصلِّ على من مات والعالمون يبكونه، اللهم صلِّ على من كان حبُّه سعادةَ الدارين وبغضُه شقاوةَ الدارين.
اللهم صلِّ على من كان خُلُقُه القرآن، وصلِّ على من كان أميناً صادقاً، وصلِّ على من بلَّغ الرسالة وأدَّى الأمانة ونصح الأمة وكشف الغمة وجاهد في الله حق جهاده حتى أتاه اليقين.
اللهم صلِّ على محمد وعلى آل محمد كما صليت على إبراهيم وعلى آل إبراهيم إنك حميد مجيد، وبارك على محمد وعلى آل محمد كما باركت على إبراهيم وعلى آل إبراهيم إنك حميد مجيد.
English Translation
O Allah, send Your blessings upon the one You sent as a mercy to the worlds. O Allah, send blessings upon the one who came with guidance and the religion of truth to make it prevail over all other religions. O Allah, send blessings upon the one who died while the worlds wept for him. O Allah, send blessings upon the one whose love brings happiness in both worlds and whose hatred brings misery in both worlds.
O Allah, send blessings upon the one whose character was the Quran. Send blessings upon the one who was trustworthy and truthful. Send blessings upon the one who conveyed the message, fulfilled the trust, advised the Ummah, removed the darkness, and strived in the way of Allah with true striving until certainty came to him.
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim and upon the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious. And bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious.
Reflection
This beautiful supplication reminds us of the comprehensive nature of sending blessings upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. When we recite Salawat, we are not merely fulfilling a religious obligation, but we are connecting our hearts to the one who was sent as a mercy to all creation.
The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah will send blessings upon him ten times." This multiplication of reward shows us the immense value Allah places on honoring His Messenger.
In our daily lives, let us make it a habit to frequently send blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ, especially during times of difficulty, before making du'a, and whenever his blessed name is mentioned. This practice purifies our hearts and brings us closer to the Prophetic example.
May Allah grant us the ability to follow in his footsteps and be among those who truly love him more than themselves, their families, and all of mankind. Ameen.
